Design the OUYA nds4droid image

The OUYA people have rejected nds4droid 4 (!) times already because of various problems with screenshots including the copyrighted Nintendo name, etc. The latest rejection was because the game’s icon (really a large image) contains a picture of a DS, which is apparently also copyrighted (fair use anyone?!).

SO, I’m reaching out to you, the nds4droid community, to develop the launcher image for nds4droid on the OUYA. This will be the image that represents the app on the console and that people select when they want to start it up. It is also the featured image on the store. Requirements:

  • 732×412 PNG (transparency okay)
  • Cannot contain any references/images/etc. to Nintendo

Post your submissions in the comments or e-mail/tweet them to me and the best one will be the face of nds4droid on the OUYA!

  1. Im not that good in graphics, so i cant help. 🙁 I think the OUYA store is being too strict about this, seriously, its a ds emulator that cant have a picture of an actual ds in it! I like what im seeing on here though 🙂

  2. Dolphin work at 1-2 fps because its optmizated for opengl 3.0 gpu device… So after i Will teste budokai 2 Ngc..

      1. Nsmb2 is a 3ds game, not a nds game. It will never work in nds4droid. Maybe if 3ds4droid comes out, but for now idk if theres even a decent 3ds emulator for pc, if there even is one at all. You could try nsmb1

      1. Im really sorry i didnt know about this i found it i never though it was à fake when it said emulator to the xbox u know xbox emulator. 4. I Know how to fix the problem ! 🙂

Okay nds and android are both fast elements . but android is runing a lot of apps at the same time but wait. the solution is not a app killer. its in the Roms . configure the Roms to work on android hardware?! No configure the ds to configurer the Rom to work as individual apps . because the Rom rely on the ds hard ware and they may not get that swich from E1 to 04 when it gose to a sean and back to the game there for it freezes . so to fix it configure the ds emulator to configure th Rom to work as a app rather than android trying to push its self to be a ds .

    1. What you are trying to say? You can’t simply make the game run as a app, to make the game run as a app on Android someone have to rewrite the entire game code to ARM Assembly and compile it for Android, it’s not emulating, but porting the game for Android. It will never happen, because Nintendo will not release the source or her games, AND is hard to find someone with Assembly skills to make a job like this.

The better way is the emulation, and is slow cause DS has two CPUs, one for simple ~9mhz 2D graphics (the same from the GBA, also used for retro-compatibility with gba cartridges) and other ~100 mhz for 3D intense and processing.

  5. I have a concept, but I doubt it’ll work because it’ll have to look like a slightly changed version of a DS cartridge. And it could have some type of well thought out color scheme/symbol/design to it that represents it as a Jeffq emulator. However, that doesn’t sound Ouya passable… I hope someone could think of something out of this.

  6. Fantastic paintings! That’s the type of info that are meant to be shared around the net. Shame on Google for now not positioning this post higher! Come on more than and talk about with my website . Thank you =)
